Washington Working Lunch
The concept is simple enough. Professor takes students to our nation’s capital. Instead of filling time with museum tours and street vendors, they tap into the Juniata Network. The result? Precious advice on navigating the world of careers in government, politics, and NGOs.
This was the scene Mar. 25-26 , 2010, when Dr. Richard Mahoney took his Career-Building Workshop to Washington, DC. Fifteen students mingled with alumni, parents and friends at the home of Scott ’03 and Aryani Kofmehl on Thursday evening, before adjourning to their home-stays. In the midst of career briefings around the city on Friday, the group took a break for lunch with alumni, friends, and College staff at the American Council on Education. The guest speaker was Roderick M. Hills, founder of the Hills Program on Governance at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Mr. Hills served as Counsel to President Ford and as Chairman of the Securities & Exchange Commission (1975-1977).
