New England Happy Hour in Cambridge, MA

Boston, Massachusetts kicked off the annual Oktoberfest season for Juniata College alumni, family and friends on Tuesday, October 2. It marked the fourth straight year the regional happy hour trail made its way to Beantown and a fun and engaging crowd came out to take part in the event. The regional happy hour program, which normally takes place in October and early November, is set up to help welcome younger alumni to the area, while established alumni from each region are invited to come out and meet and greet the new alumni.
This year the group gathered at John Harvard’s Brew House in Harvard Square. The 1960s, 1970s, 1990s and 2000s were represented, including 1965 graduates Carl and Penney Bush. Leslie Vogt, who earned her College Hill diploma in 2005 was the most recent graduate in attendance. From beginning to end, great conversation and story-telling were exchanged, while old friendships were renewed and new relationships were established. In addition, those who gathered committed to hosting a spring/summer gathering in the Boston area and some ideas were shared about possible event locations. Stay tuned to the Juniata alumni Web site for details.
