Homecoming and Family Weekend 2014

Check out some photos of the fun!

Nearly 1,700 of Juniata's alumni, families, and friends attended Homecoming and Family Weekend 2014 on Oct. 17-19. The unpredictable weather didn’t faze the festival goers, as a palpable vibe of positive energy purveyed! Holding the Picnic Lunch in Baker Refectory gave many alumni and parents their first glimpse of the recently-renovated space. Children and others young-at-heart enjoyed the inflatable games, pottery making, balloon artists and other artists and activities indoors in the Intramural Gym. The Marketplace showcased merchandise by Juniata alumni, student clubs and local businesses. Additional highlights included reunions for the Classes of 1999, 2004 and 2009, a breakfast which included a Q&A session with Juniata’s top administrators, a lively Beer Garden sponsored by alums Chris Lampe '94 of Weyerbacher Brewing and Andrew Maxwell '96 of Rivertowne Brewing, gatherings for the 10th Anniversary of the African American Student Alliance and the celebration of 40 years of Men’s Rugby with the annual alumni match held at Knox Stadium under the new lights on Goodman Field.

Special thanks to all of the volunteers and staff who gave their time to make Homecoming and Family Weekend memorable! And, thanks to everyone who attended the Big Event. How was your weekend? Let us know by completing the Homecoming and Family Weekend Survey.

We hope you will join us for Homecoming and Family Weekend 2015 on October 2-4. Because next year's event coincides with a Penn State home football game, we suggest you make your hotel plans early. See the lodging list for local hotels including ones with special room blocks and rates.

We also recommend you consider housing options other than traditional hotels and motels. There are bed and breakfasts, vacation homes, and other rentals in the area that our guests have enjoyed in the past. Many are especially well-suited for groups and offer lots of extra amenities. Look for them in the Huntingdon Area lodging list and in the Additional Resources section at the bottom of the lodging list.

Special reunions will be held for the classes of 2000, 2005 and 2010. If your reunion is approaching and you would like to work with your classmates to make it extra special, please contact Dawn Scialabba at (814) 641-3448 or
