HUNTINGDON- Freshman Sydney Master's (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte Area) first half goal was all Juniata College needed to give it its first conference victory of the 2009 season this Saturday at Winton Hill Field in a 1-0 victory against Goucher.

Master's shot came in the 32nd minute after Goucher goalkeeper Kellen Matthews misplayed the ball. Melissa Johnson (Colonia, N.J./John F. Kennedy) is credited with the assist.

Juniata outshot Goucher 12-5 and held a 6-1 corner kick advantage.

Winning goalkeeper Lauren Auster-Gussman (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster County Day) saved the Gopher's lone shot on goal, improving her save percentage to .821. Finishing the game for the Eagles was junior Kristen Penska (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) who played the remaining 45 minutes in goal. Goucher keeper Matthews played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded five saves.

The Eagles hope to improve their two game winning streak when they take on Stevenson University Wednesday, September 30th at 4 p.m. at Winton Hill Field.
