HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College is pleased to announce its partnership with the Cristo Rey Network, comprised of 39 Catholic, career-focused, college preparatory schools.

The Cristo Rey Network is committed to educating and supporting economically disadvantaged students, many of whom are first generation college students or students of color.

“Juniata is delighted and privileged to be officially connected to the Cristo Rey Network,” said Jason Moran, vice president for enrollment management at Juniata College. “Cristo Rey’s mission to uniquely integrate rigorous academic curricula with four years of professional work experience and support to and through college is a perfect marriage with Juniata’s mission to provide personalized educational experience to students who fully engage in a liberal arts lifestyle and maximize the strength of experiential learning.”

The Cristo Rey Network’s mission is to deliver “a career focused, college preparatory education in the Catholic tradition for students with limited economic resources, uniquely integrating rigorous academic curricula with four years of professional work experience and support to and through college.”

“It was clear from the outset that Juniata College and the Cristo Rey Network are mission aligned. Not only is Juniata College an institution with an exceptional six-year graduation rate for its students, but it is also one of the few colleges in which students of color are achieving higher rates of success than the general population,” said Sonya Ramirez, director of university partnerships. “As a partner, they are not only committed to the admission of our Cristo Rey Network students, but to their success in achieving their Juniata College diplomas.”

This partnership will provide a pathway for students within the Cristo Rey Network to take part in pre-college opportunities including summer programs, visits, or recruitment programs; access to competitive financial aid packaging; and resources for students who matriculate to Juniata College.
