Personal Theatre Pieces are Focus of Juniata\'s \'Solo\'

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Ten Juniata College theatre students and two members of The Gravity Project, Juniata\'s professional theatre group, will present individual theatrical works in the production \"Solo,\" which will be performed Wednesday, April 18 at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m., and at 7:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday, April 19 and 21 in the Suzanne von Liebig Theatre in the Halbritter Center for the Performing Arts.
Tickets for the productions are $3 for students and $7 for general admission. Tickets are available at the box office of the Halbritter Center.
The student pieces were created and performed as part of the Juniata College Liberal Arts Symposium, a daylong event celebrating student research and creativity on April 18.
The student performance pieces will be as follows:
Tricia Bitetto, a junior from Ringoes, N.J., will perform \"Soap Opera.\"
Josh Beckel, a junior from Hollidaysburg, Pa., will perform \"Dynamics of Mathematics.\"
Adam Vachon, a junior from Gray, Maine, will perform \"Travelogues: Comfort and Frustration.\"
Jesse Parsons, a junior from Roosevelt, N.J., will perform \"Onward and Upward.\"
Megan Monahan, a sophomore from Pottstown, Pa., will perform \"Translations.\"
Elizabeth Danforth, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, will perform \"Discovering Gravitational You.\"
Kellyn Miller, a junior from Tyrone, Pa., will perform \"The Secret Life of Rocks.\"
Veronica Prush, a freshman from Brooklyn, N.Y., will perform \"Prom Anxiety.\"
Allison Strausberg, a sophomore from Bel-Air, Md., will perform \"Fallen Fairytale.\"
Mandi Yeager, a senior from Curwensville, Pa., will perform \"Pieces.\"
Two members of The Gravity Project, which is Juniata\'s professional theater organization, will also perform solo works for the production.
Yvonne Ng, who specializes in dance and multidisciplinary theatre, will perform \"Collection #5: Strings Attached.\" She has received the 2002 K.M. Hunter Dance Award and the 2003 New Arts Pioneers Arts Award. Based in Toronto, Canada, she has performed internationally and across the United States.
Kathleen Clarke-Burrow will perform \"Not I,\" a short play by Samuel Beckett. She is a New York City-based actress and singer who has acted in television series such as \"Northern Exposure\" and \"Third Watch.\" She also teaches acting, movement and voice.
