HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The old Juniata College eagle logo received a face-lift Saturday, when a new athletics logo and visual identity suite was introduced.

The new Juniata Athletics logo and wordmark was officially presented to the Juniata community by President Thomas R. Kepple, Jr., at halftime of Saturday's Juniata-Allegheny football game.

The new identity suite features a logo incorporating both the college's initials as well as a redesigned eagle head, and a new wordmark that will feature both the eagle head and the complete name of the college. Each sport program will also have its own identity wordmark. All the elements in the new system are united typographically, and will use the existing college colors of blue and old gold.

Jason S. Oakman, a partner at the marketing firm of Xsalta, LLC, of State College, Pa., designed the new identity suite. Gabe Welsch, assistant vice president for marketing, and Pete Lefresne, sports information director, coordinated the project for Juniata College.
