CARLISLE, Pa. -- The Juniata College cross country teams fielded a pair of top 20 finishers at Saturday's Dickinson College Long/Short Invitational in Carlisle, Pa.

Seniors Laura Rupprecht (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) and Matt Bailey (East Petersburg, Pa./Hempfield) each finished 14th in their respective events, to turn in the top Eagle finishes of the day. Rupprecht finished 14th in the women's 4k event with a time of 15:45.3, while Bailey was 14th in the men's 4k race with a time of 12:43.4.

Trailing Rupprecht in the women's 4k were freshman Caroline Morgan (Havertown, Pa./Havertown Township) in 32nd place with a time of 6:36.7, with a cluster of runners finishing between 77th and 84th. Sarah Trescher (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) was 77th with a time of 17:48.1, with sophomore Elizabeth Linde (Kirkwood, Pa./Solanco) placing 79th in 17:49.3. Senior Megan Peterson (Canton, Pa./Canton) was 82nd in 17:57.3, and newcomer Casey Hoffman (Coplay, Pa./Parkland) was 84th with a time of 17:59.8.

In the women's 6k race, junior Anne Wakabayashi (El Cajon, Calif./Academy of Our Lady of Peace) was 57th with a time of 26:06.9, and freshman Emily Rowley (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski) was 84th in a time of 27:40.9. They were followed by Kerri Magerowski (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) in 112th place (30:24.1), and Abby Lutz (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) who was 113th (30:26.5).

Bailey headlined a group of four Juniata runners who finished in the top half of the field in the 4k race. Senior Sam Williams (Roaring Spring, Pa./Central) was 39th after finishing in 13:14.6, while Nik Klena (Franklin, Pa./Oil City) was 45th in a time of 13:23.5. Junior Jon Pfadenhauer (Old Westbury, N.Y./The Wheatley School) finished 71st in a time of 13:47.5.

The Juniata contingent in the men's 8.1k event was led by Ceth Parker (Sabillasville, Md./Catoctin) in 21st place, posting a time of 27:32.3. Junior Kevin Donahue (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown) finished 110th with a time of 30:13.2, while freshman John Lugg (Lock Haven, Pa./Western Reserve Acad., Ohio) checked in at 154th with a time of 31:54.7.

Overall, the women finished 11th out of 29 teams in the event, while the men were 12th out of 30 squads.

Juniata competes at a tri-meet with Gettysburg College and Messiah College next Saturday, Sept. 26, in Grantham, Pa.
