Competitive Scholarship programs:

Juniata offers an array of competitive scholarships that recognize the outstanding achievements of incoming students without regard to financial need. Academic Scholarships at Juniata reward students who do well academically, but also contribute to their school and community by getting involved. For most scholarships at Juniata, all you have to do is apply to be considered, and further information will be communicated:

The W. Clay and Kathryn H. Burkholder Merit Scholarships
The income from the endowment fund shall be used in each fiscal year to provide one or more scholarships to students, with preference to students majoring in either pre-medical studies or music, who demonstrate academic merit, including leadership, intellectual ability, and participation in extracurricular activities, as determined by the College in accordance with established standards. The selected student or students shall receive a scholarship covering all academic frees and tuition, room, board, and related costs actually incurred through attendance at Juniata, as well as the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000). The scholarships shall be awarded to selected students for each of up to four years of study at Juniata College as long as they continue to maintain an appropriately high academic performance at the College." Priority is given to students who apply Early Action 1, or Early Decision.

Lawrence Stanley Johnson (2007)
Endowed Annual Full (tuition and mandatory fees) for the benefit of a graduating student of Somerset Area High School, Somerset, PA, who demonstrates financial need, academic proficiency in the natural sciences, and leadership potential. Annual renewal of the scholarship shall be contingent upon continuing financial need and satisfactory academic performance of the recipient.

Richard M. Simpson Memorial Scholarship (1960)
A memorial scholarship fund in memory of the late Congressman Richard M. Simpson was established at Juniata College in February 1960, as "a living memorial to this great American". The endeavor toward the establishment of a memorial scholarship fund is "in keeping with the memory of Mr. Simpson because of his great interest in the educational opportunities of our youth and also because of his work on behalf of Juniata College in his home community of Huntingdon, PA." It is the purpose of the sponsors to raise a fund sufficient to provide a suitable corpus to be held in perpetual trust so that the investment income from the fund can be used to grant tuition scholarships to deserving applicants who evidence outstanding attributes of citizenship; useful purpose, and academic promise. These scholarships will be for a full four-year course contingent on the maintenance of suitable standards by the individual recipients. It is the hope of the sponsors that it will be possible to award at least one such scholarship each year in the memory of Richard Murray Simpson. Priority is given to students who apply Early Action 1, or Early Decision.

Music Scholarships
Scholarships for non-music major vocalists and instrumentalists, up to $5,000/year, are available by audition. Students must be admitted to Juniata. Students who audition will receive at minimum at $500 one-time scholarship. Scholarship winners must remain in their ensemble each semester to retain their scholarship. Eagles Abroad Scholarship Program
The Eagles Abroad Scholarship Program gives students who wish to continue to learn either Spanish or French the opportunity to have multiple study abroad experiences, and to engage deeply with global language and culture. For optimal consideration, please apply by January 1st.

Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarships
Two scholarships are awarded annually to Phi Theta Kappa students who transfer to Juniata. Students who have active PTK membership at their current community college and at least a 3.85 GPA are eligible for consideration. To apply, contact admissions, at admissions@juniata.edu.

Esports Scholarships
Juniata also offers esports scholarships up to $2,500. These awards recognize program engagement and participation of students who do well academically, but also contribute to their school and community and whose academic excellence and aspirations are balanced with competitive ability. Art Scholarships
Students who are interested in studying Studio Arts or Integrated Media Arts throughout their four years at Juniata, may qualify for an Art scholarship that ranges from $500 - $5,000. Scholarship winners will be expected to enroll in at least one art course per semester that they are enrolled at Juniata (designated by AR or IMA course prefix). Students who complete a portfolio reivew will receive at minimum a $500 one-time scholarship. To be eligible, students must be admitted to Juniata. AAUW State College- is offering a scholarship for Centre County residents. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2024. Please click on the link to view the various eligibility requirements.

American Chemical Society - The scholarship is designed to encourage African-American, Hispanic, and Native American students to pursue undergraduate college degrees in the chemical sciences. The goal of this scholarship program is to promote diversity in the chemical sciences by aiding in building an awareness of college students in these minority groups of the value and rewards associated with careers in science and to assist these students in acquiring skills and credentials needed for success in these areas. American SBA- has a variety of different scholarships, including monthly and by semester. There are different due dates for each opportunity. Please click on the link for full details.

B. Davis Scholarship- is for $1,000. An essay is required. The deadline to apply is May 21, 2024.  

BigSun Athletics- is offering a $500 scholarship to student athletes. The deadline to apply is June 19, 2024. 

Bold.org- is a scholarship resource page. You can define your search criteria to search for varying scholarships.

Budget Branders- is offering an annual $1,000 scholarship. This scholarship involves meals you have cooked. The deadline to apply is August 31st. Please click on the link for full details.

Calvin Rosser Book Lover's Scholarship- is for $500. Applicants must submit an essay on a topic featured on their website. The deadline to apply is May 31, 2024. 

CamperVanFinder- is pleased to offer a $2,500 scholarship. Applicants must submit a small essay for consideration. There are multiple deadlines for this scholarship, please click on the link for full details. 

Campus Pride- is a database of LGBTQ related scholarships 

Careers Against Smoking- is offering a variety of different scholarships on their page. Please click on the link for additional information and be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page to the scholarship section.

Caring.com- is offering a $1,000 scholarship to two lucky winners. This scholarship is designed for students who are passionate about helping seniors. The deadline has not been announced at this time so please be sure to check out their website.

Central Infusion Alliance- is offering a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded annually. Submissions must received by June 1st of each year with the winner being selected on July 1st. Please click on the link for additional details. 

Citizens- offers monthly $2,500 scholarships with a grand prize of $15,000. Undergrads, grads, and parents (who have loans through Citizens) can apply. 

College Answer's Scholarship Resource Center - Get tips for a successful scholarship search & find out how to write a winning scholarship essay AND learn how to avoid scholarship scams.  Sallie Mae's free scholarship search engine provides access to an award database that contains more than 3 million scholarships, worth over $16 billion. And just by registering, students will be automatically entered in a drawing for a $1,000 monthly scholarship giveaway.

CollegeAve- is offering a $1,000 monthly scholarship. There isn't a an essay requirement for this but you must enter the contest each month to be considered for that specific month. 

College Scholarship Search- is a search site. Students can view their web page for information on over 70 scholarships. 

Colleges That Change Lives- is an organization offering an annual scholarship(s). There are multiple deadlines. Please check out their webpage for more information.

Conex Boxes- is offering an annual $1,000 scholarship. There is an essay requirement for this scholarship. The deadline to apply is October 31st. 

Diamocycle- is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a student pursing a degree in a business related field. The deadline to apply is June 1, 2024. 

Discover Business- is a scholarship resource page that lists various business degree related scholarships. There are many options so each have a different deadline. Please click on the link to view the different opportunities.

DMVEDU- is announcing an annual $3,000 scholarship. A short essay is required. There are different rounds for this essay so be sure to click on the link for rules and deadlines.

Doctors Answering Service 24 X 7- is offering an annual $1,000 scholarship. Applicants must compose a short essay. The deadline to apply is June 15th of each year. 

Dollar Hand- is offering an annual $2,000 scholarship. There is an essay requirement. The deadline to apply is November 7th. 

Equipment Lease- is offering a $1,000 scholarship twice a year. A short essay is required. There are multiple deadlines. Please click on the link for full details. 

ExtremeTerrain- is offering two $3,000 scholarships. One will be awarded for Fall term and the other for spring. Applicants must submit an essay for entry. Please click on the link for the deadlines as well as full eligibility requirements.

FindMyElectric- is offering a $1,000 scholarship. Appicants must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater and the deadline to apply is May 1, 2024. 

Finger Finance- is offering a $1,000 scholarship. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or better to apply. The deadline to apply is April 5, 2024. 

FiveEstimates.com- is pleased to offer an annual $1,000 scholarship. A short essay is required. The deadline to apply is May 30th.

Graduate Program Scholarships by Sallie Mae- Sallie Mae is pleased to offer $1,000 monthly scholarships. Please visit their website for rules as well as other helpful information. 

GreenPal- is offering a $2,000 scholarship. This award is annual. Please click on the link for additional details.

Hartford Technology Rental- is offering two $1,000 scholarships. The award is annual with one scholarship issued in December and one in May. Please click on the link for deadlines and other helpful information.  

Hillel- is an organization offering a few different scholarships. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2024. Please click on the link for full detalis. 

iVein- is offering two annual $2,500 scholarships. Applicants must compose an essay regarding healthy living. There are two different deadlines with this each year.

The mission of Kids' Chance of Pennsylvania, Inc. (Kids' Chance of PA) is to provide scholarship grants for college and vocational education to children of Pennsylvania workers who have been killed or seriously injured in a work-related accident resulting in financial need.  To find out if you are eligible or to apply for a scholarship, please visit the Kids' Chance website.

KompareIt- is pleased to offer a $1,000 annual scholarship. There is an essay requirement. The last day to apply is September 15th of each year. 

LA Tutors- is offering a monthly $500 scholarship. The deadline to apply is the 20th of each month. Please click on the link for additional eligibility requirements. 

Lawn Starter-is offering a scholarship open to any major as long as the applicant is passionate about entrepreneurship. Please click on the link for additional details. 

LendEDU- is a scholarship database. You can find information on scholarships ranging from major to state and everything in between.

Lendza- is offering a $500 scholarship. The deadline to apply is August 31, 2024. 

Life Coach Spotter- is pleased to offer an annual $1,000 scholarship. Applicants must submit an essay regarding challenges they have overcome. The deadline is August 1st.

Mattress Nerd- is offering an annual $1,000 scholarship. Students must compose a short essay. The deadline to apply is April 1st. 

Medical Billing Service Review- is offering an annual $1,000 scholarship. A short essay is required. The deadline to apply is June 30th with the winner being selected in mid-July. 

Memorials.com- is pleased to offer at least one $2,500 scholarship annually. Applicants must submit an essay involving remembering a loved one. The deadline to apply is May 31st.

NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship- is $10,000 offered three different times throughout the 23-24 academic year. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.2 or greater. There are varying deadlines. Please click the link for full eligibilty requirements. 

The New Beginnings Scholarship is available to high school and college students.  You must have a minimum of 2.0 GPA to be eligible for this award. A 250-word essay must also be submitted about your academic goals and your contributions to your school and/or community.  $500 is awarded on the 21st of each month.

NosratiLaw- is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship. Applicants must compose a short essay as well as have a GPA of 3.0 or greater. The deadline to apply is February 20th of each year.

NOVUS BIOLOGICALS will award one declared science major $1500 every spring and fall semester. Applying for the scholarship is as simple as writing a short essay telling our scholarship team why science is awesome and how you plan to use your degree to advance scientific discovery.  Please visit the website for more information.

OppLoans- is pleased to offer quarterly scholarships for a total of $10,000 annually. Applicants must submit an essay for entry as well as maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. Please click on the link to view the different deadlines. 

PNC- is pleased to offer twelve $2,000 scholarships, some with a summer deadline and some with a winter deadline. Students must enter by visiting their website.

Scholarship Search by Sallie Mae - More than 3 million scholarships offering up to $18 billion in free money are accessible with Scholarship Search by Sallie Mae. STUDENTS CAN WIN $1,000 to help pay for college.  Sallie Mae awards $1,000 every month.  Students can easily enter the sweepstakes when they register for the Scholarship Search by Sallie Mae.

Shearer Scholarship- is a scholarship offered to third and fourth year students majoring in social work. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater. The deadline to apply is June 1st.

Triton Technology- is offering three different scholarships with the top award being $1,000. An essay is required. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2024.

Tuition Funding Sources - Tuition Funding Sources is a private website designed to help students find scholarships, college and career information.  TFS offers students the largest scholarship database in the world with over $41 Billion in scholarship awards along with a career personality test and detailed college and career information. 

United Yacht Sales- is offering an annual $1,500 scholarship. The deadline to apply is December 31st.  

Upromise - Learn how just about everything you do can earn more money for college.  

Utopia Management- is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship that is semi-annual, fall and spring. Applicants must compose an essay for consideration. Please click on the link for full eligiblity requirements and deadlines. 

Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt.  Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries.  The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 scholarship.  Interested persons can visit the website for contest information.

Veterans and Dependents Scholarships- This is a resource page dedicated to servicemembers and their families. There are a variety of different scholarships to view.

Juniata College seeks academically qualified international students as part of a long-term commitment to global engagement. We offer merit scholarships to qualified international students who are admitted. No “full cost” financial aid scholarships are available. 

If you are not a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident, you must submit the International Student Financial Aid Application (PDF) before we will review your application for admission. The U.S. government’s Department of Homeland Security requires that students show that they can support themselves financially. The amount that you must certify for the first year is for the total cost of attendance (minus the scholarship/need based aid if received). Enrolling students must provide an official bank statement. If you are offered a merit scholarship, this amount can be lower. Please note that full scholarships are not available. If you are sponsored by your government, the financial guarantee letter will be accepted instead of the International Student Financial Aid Application.

Merit Scholarships
We consider all admitted international applicants for academic, or merit-based scholarships. These awards are based primarily on academic achievement: your grades, the strength of your academic program, your TOEFL or IELTS scores, and your SAT scores if submitted. If offered, our international student scholarships of up to $40,000 (USD) are renewable at the same dollar amount each year if you maintain satisfactory academic progress and full-time enrollment.

Competitive Scholarships
The Global Scholars Award is designed to recognize outstanding students from around the world who demonstrate exceptional academic achievements, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. Recipients of the Global Scholars Award will receive $2,000 to support their educational expenses, including tuition, accommodation, and other academic needs.
