Welcome Juniata College Geology Alumni

This platform is designed to showcase how your generous contributions to our program are used.  Currently, we have 2 endowments set, the Mutti-Washburn fieldtrip fund and the J.P. Trexler alumni fund.

Both funds are used to support Juniata College geology POEs (majors).  Specifically, the Mutti-Washburn fieldtrip funds will be used to support a longer fieldtrip for freshman and sophomore level students.  This course is labeled GL 104 Expedition Earth (make the link here also) and is a core requirement for geology POEs and is designed as a 2-credit course for the spring.  The course meets once a week to learn and discuss the geology and environmental aspects of the extended fieldtrip.  Locations for the fieldtrip will range from the east coast to the west coast.  Locations will be announced each year and you can visit the following page to see these experiences.  J. P. Trexler alumni funds will augment the fieldtrip funds as well as be used to aid students in geological research supervised by a geology faculty member.  Funds will be used for travel and supplies.
