The Juniata College Concert Choir will present its 2001 Tour Homecoming Concert at 8:15 p.m. March 31 in Rosenberger Auditorium in Oller Hall on the Juniata College campus.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature choral music organized around the theme of "Music of the Americas." The choir will perform selection by composers from Canada, the United States, Trinidad, Mexico and Brazil. Some of the highlights of the concert will be renditions of "The Star Spangled Banner" and the national anthem of Trinidad, "Alleluia," by Randall Thompson and "Amazing Grace."

The choir is returning from a spring break tour of Trinidad and a tour of Long Island and Albany, N.Y. This concert is the 11th Tour homecoming concert. Russell Shelley, assistant professor of music, will conduct the choir.

The concert choir is comprised of 45 students from Juniata College. Choir members must go through an audition process to join the group.

Each spring the choir tours within the United States or in other countries. In past years, the choir has performed at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City; The National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.; North Side Drive Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga.; Salzburg Cathedral in Austria; Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin, Germany; and the Cathedral de Notre Dame Chartres in France.

In 1999, the group toured France and Switzerland. Other tours included Florida (1999), Chicago (1998) and Romania, Hungary and the Czech Republic (1997).
