Former Juniata Administrator to lecture on China

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- A former director of international programs at Juniata College will present a talk on "China: Engine of Growth or Wrecker of Dreams?" at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20 in Alumni Hall in the Brumbaugh Academic Center on the Juniata campus.
The event is free and open to the public.
William "Buff" Vocke currently teaches in Taiwan as visiting professor at National Chengchi University. He is former president of the World Affairs Council of America., in Cincinnati, Ohio. Vocke joined the Juniata College faculty in 1974 as assistant director of political science. He was promoted to associate professor of politics in 1983. He served as Juniata's director of international programs from the mid-1980s to 1990.
Vocke earned a bachelor's degree in political science and economics from Wittenberg University in 1968.
He earned a master's degree in 1974 and doctorate in 1981, both in international studies from the University of South Carolina.
