HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- David Reingold, H. George Foster Chair in Chemistry at Juniata College, received a $55,000 grant from the Petroleum Research Fund of the American Chemical Society for a year-long research program.
Reingold received the grant for a project titled "Ordered Arrays of Polyphenols by Tandem Reactions," which, explained simply, means the research will focus on making new materials that might have electronic properties useful in scientific applications.
The grant, which will be used over a three-year period, will provide a stipend for two summer student research assistants for each of the three years stipulated in the grant.
