Lebanon Valley Diversity Specialist to Hold Workshop at Juniata

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- James Felton, director of multicultural affairs at Lebanon Valley College, in Anheim, Pa., will hold a workshop, "The Arts, Gardens, and Urban Communities' Social Justice Paradigm" at Juniata College at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13 in the Sill Board Room in the von Liebig Center for Science.
The workshop is free and open to the public.
Felton will outline how the use of arts programs and urban gardening projects are becoming more common in urban centers across the country. He will highlight several programs that take a unique approach to these initiatives. Felton also will tie in how these new approaches contribute to community sustainability and urban renewal in the United States.
Felton earned a bachelor's degreeiin psychology and a masters degree in educational administration from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College), in Westminster, Md. He is currently working toward a doctoral degree in administration and leadership studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
