HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Yearning to learn how to create your own music videos or shoot a feature film? Get a head start on entering film school by enrolling in Juniata College's "Extreme Media" Digital Film Camp, June 16-23 on the Juniata campus.

For six days, campers can star in their own movie, or become producers and editors of their own film project. In addition, a professional director of photography with extensive Hollywood credits will be the lead instructor for the camp. Cost for the camp is $450 for an overnight resident who plans to stay on campus in a dorm room and $350 for campers who will commute to Juniata each day. Interested campers are asked to register by May 20 to guarantee a space at the camp. Fees cannot be refunded after June 1.

For registration forms, contact Nathan Wagoner at (814) 641-5327 or by e-mail at wagonen@juniata.edu. Campers can register online at www.juniata.edu/extreme.

Campers will gain experience using digital video cameras and creating special effects using blue-screen technology. In addition, campers will learn to edit film on a digital editing program, create soundtracks, add sound effects and use some visual effects.

"Every camper will make their own movie," says Nathan Wagoner, coordinator for the camp. "There will be a big screening party Saturday (June 22) and Juniata will post all the movies on a college Web site."

Each camper also will receive a CD-ROM copy of all the camp movies to take home. All finished movies will be posted on the college Web site: www.juniata.edu/extreme.

The camp's lead instructor is Michael Trim, a 1976 graduate of Juniata College, and a certified director of photography. He has extensive music video credits as cinematographer for such groups as Janet Jackson, Savage Garden and Tears for Fears. He received a 1995 MTV Award for best cinematography for a Rolling Stones video. He also has worked as cinematographer on commercials for Nike, Coca-Cola, Budweiser and Levi's.

Students who cannot afford the cost of the camp can request scholarship funds. Interested campers can send a written request, along with a written statement from a teacher, guidance counselor or principal to: Nathan Wagoner, Juniata College, 1700 Moore St., Huntingdon, PA 16652.

Those who would like to mail in registrations can make their checks payable to Juniata College. Mail the registration form and check to Extreme Media, Office of Conferences and Events, Juniata College, 1700 Moore St., Huntingdon, PA 16652.
