HUNTINGDON, Pa.—Juniata College and Sheetz Inc. have established a partnership to provide high-quality professional development opportunities for Sheetz employees. 

“Juniata is very excited to partner with Sheetz, one of the more recognizable and respected businesses in our region,” said James A. Troha, president of Juniata College. “They are also extremely community-minded, a value that aligns well with Juniata College. We look forward to a long partnership with them.”

The newly-established program will offer Sheetz employees a 20 percent tuition discount for master’s-level coursework and degrees that can lead to increased earnings potential and professional advancement opportunities. 

“Our graduate programs build on our considerable strengths in business, statistics, and biology and provide the kind of expertise and training needed in the 21st century workplace,” said Juniata College provost Lauren Bowen. “I am pleased that Sheetz is extending to its employees the opportunity to be part of this exciting initiative.”

For Sheetz, this is an extension of the corporation’s commitment to continuing professional education for their employees. The collaboration provides Juniata with enhanced networking opportunities which result from working with a leader in the business community.

Graduate program offerings at Juniata include accounting, bioinformatics, business administration, data science, and organizational leadership. Degrees can be completed on a part- or full-time basis. Flexible options exist as most courses are offered either online or in-person on the College campus. 

Through an employer partner program, employers benefit through increased employee job performance and satisfaction, enhanced employee retention, practical professional development, enticement for prospective employees, and a demonstration of employer commitment to employee’s professional growth and development. 

In order to participate in the partnership program, prospective students must have a completed bachelor’s degree and a 2.75 GPA, an application for admission, two letters of recommendation, a resume, and a statement of purpose.
