Huntingdon, PA ? Juniata College junior quarterback Greg Troutman (Meyersdale/Meyersdale) was chosen as the MAC offensive player of the week for his efforts in leading Juniata to a win against Moravian in Bethlethem.

Troutman rushed for a career-high 169 yards and a touchdown, and tossed for another 122 yards and a score to lead the Eagles to the 21-14 victory over Moravian. Running the Eagle?s triple option, Troutman had 11 carries in which he gained 10-yards or more, including a long of 18 yards. He averaged 8.4 yards per carry on the game. Through the air, the junior signal caller was 12-for-29 for 122 yards with a touchdown throw. His previous career-best was 108 rushing yards in his freshman season, also against Moravian. His high rushing mark in 2002 was 87 yards in a win over Lebanon Valley.

Through Juniata?s first two contests, Troutman is leading the Eagles in both rushing and passing. He has gained 196 yards on the ground, and exactly 300 yards passing on the season. He?s thrown a pair of touchdown passes and rushed for one score.

This is the third time in his career that Troutman has received MAC offensive player of the week recognition. During his freshman season he received the honor on two occasions, then closed the year by being named the conference ?Rookie of the Year.?

With Troutman leading the Juniata offense, the team is 1-1 after its first two games, and 1-0 in MAC battles. The Eagles are 11-10 over the past two-plus seasons when Troutman has been the starting signal caller.
