HUNTINGDON, Pa.– Juniata College will host a series of free events this September that are open to the public. 

This month at Juniata: 

  • “Decision 2024: Red Dawn or Blue Skies” presented by Henry Olsen, senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, D.C., at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024, in Neff Lecture Hall, von Liebig Center for Science. Sponsored by the Department of Politics. 
  • "Power Lines: Hydroelectricity, Indigenous Histories, and You" presented by James Rice, professor of history at Tufts University, at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in Neff Lecture Hall, von Liebig Center for Science. This is the Delbert McQuaide Lectureship in History sponsored by the Department of History. 
  • “Antique Mexican Masks and Figures from the Althouse Collection,” an exhibit celebrating Hispanic culture with an exceptional exhibition of antique masks and carved figures from Mexico. Opening on Thursday, September 12, at the Juniata College Museum of Art and on display through Saturday, December 7. An opening reception will be held from 5-6 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, with comments by the collector, Stephen Althouse, at 5:30 p.m.   
  • A mask-making activity will be held during Art Walk Huntingdon from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Juniata College Museum of Art.
