New AAA partnership with Juniata College also establishes annual scholarship

HUNTINGDON, Pa. (December 16, 2025) — AAA Central Penn today announced a partnership with Juniata College that includes the donation of its former branch location at 608 Washington Street in Huntingdon to the college and the establishment of an annual scholarship program for area high school students.

The storefront property gifted by AAA Central Penn enables the college to realize a long-time aspiration of establishing a downtown space for activities and programs to benefit Huntingdon residents and the campus community.

“AAA Central Penn is so pleased that Juniata College has accepted our gift of the Washington Street property,” said AAA Central Penn President and CEO Jodie Daubert. “While we no longer have a branch location in Huntingdon, we remain absolutely committed to the community, as a partner and as a provider of valuable services and savings. We look forward to the benefits that this gift to the college will bring to residents, students and businesses.”

Juniata College President James A. Troha said, “When we learned of the closing of AAA Central Penn’s Huntingdon branch, we reached out to the organization about their plans for the property. We couldn’t be more pleased that our outreach has resulted in AAA Central Penn’s generous donation, which is enabling Juniata College to realize a decade-long goal of establishing a downtown presence. We look forward to transforming the former AAA Central Penn branch into a space that will serve as a hub for engagement and connection between the college and the community.”

In addition to the donated Washington Street location, Juniata College has an off-campus location at Moore and 14th Streets, the Sill Business Center, which supports entrepreneurship and small business growth.

The partnership between AAA Central Penn and Juniata College also establishes a scholarship toward tuition at the college, which will be awarded annually to a high school graduate from Huntingdon or Juniata counties.

“AAA Central Penn’s generous donation and Juniata College’s investment in this downtown space are a perfect example of collaboration that strengthens our community,” said Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO MacKenzie Huntsman. “This initiative solidifies the bond between the college and our community, bringing new energy, innovation and opportunities for students, residents and local businesses. The addition of an annual scholarship for local high school graduates further demonstrates the shared commitment to supporting education and investing in the future of our region.”
