Environmental Geology is a seamless blend of geological studies with environmental
science. Students studying Environmental Geology at Juniata College are able to pursue
a growing career field that addresses water management, energy resources, pollution,
climate change, and land use.
Students have the opportunity to participate in opportunities like the Remote Field Course, a two-part course which examines the desert region of the American southwest, as
well as, Expedition: Earth, a field experience course designed for geology students of all levels to promote
exposure and engagement with a diverse range of geologic settings.

An Ideal Location
Just minutes from campus, explore sites that show geology in all of its glory: sedimentary rocks, massive outcroppings, stone structures, caverns, and diverse fossils. Indeed, our region is ideal for studying geology. In fact, Pennsylvania’s Trail of Geology, maintained by the Commonwealth’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, begins in Huntingdon County, which is Juniata’s home.
