Exhibition Opening: Mining the Museum - Hidden Collections
Thursday, October 31st, 5pm - 6:30pm, JCMA
Students in Museum Practicum and Museum Education classes comb through our vaults and hidden collections to create a companion exhibition for In the Fabric of the Woodland. Art works activate our imaginations; see how historic works about this place we live help us to envision the past and our future.
Mindfulness at the Museum
Mondays: Nov 7, Nov 14, Nov 21 at 6pm, JCMA
Join us for 30-minute sessions designed to promote focus, awareness, and relaxation by attending to an artwork. Some sessions include hands-on activities, some are more meditative. These sessions will involve drawing in the Hidden Collections exhibition.
Off-site Installations: In the Fabric of the Woodland
Through December 13
Artist Lauren Strohacker has installed message boards on campus and in the community as an extension of her residency. Visit Juniata College campus for two boards (Founders Hall, Kepple Hall); Lincoln Caverns (http://lincolncaverns.com) for one board; and Shaver's Creek (https://www.shaverscreek.org) for one board.
