Biography
Professor Wright came to Juniata in 2002 from the private sector, where he worked as a team project leader at SunGard Investor Accounting Systems in Wayne, Pa. He is a 1993 graduate of Juniata College, earning a bachelor's degree in computer science and mathematics. He went on to earn a master's degree in computer science from Villanova University in 2000. Wright started his business career at SunGard in 1993 as an associate programmer analyst. He was promoted to programmer analyst in 1995 and became senior programmer analyst in 1998. In 1999, he was named team project leader and supervised a team of programmers in the design, testing and development of several software products used by the banking industry in corporate trust applications. At Juniata, his focus has been directed at courses in programming, computer organization, operating systems, and human-computer interaction, along with several courses in the areas of digital media and data science. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the ACM's special interest groups on computer science education (SIGCSE) and computer-human interaction (SIGCHI). He is also a member of the Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges (CCSC) and is active in the Eastern Region. The ITCS department members are regular attendees/presenters at SIGCSE and CCSC conferences. He and his wife, Lorenn Schouppe-Wright '93 have three daughters, Meghan '22, Kieran '24, and Aislin.
