Applying for Financial Aid
The Office of Student Financial Planning partners with you to keep a Juniata education affordable by helping students and families to find the appropriate methods to finance your Juniata College education. We provide contact information for lenders and other aid providers to bring together all the resources you may need. On average 88% of a student's demonstrated financial need is met with financial aid resources.
Prospective Students: Please submit a 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if you would like to determine your eligibility for federal student aid such as federal grants, work-study funds, and loans, as well as any institutional need-based financial aid. Early filing of the FAFSA guarantees that you will be considered for all types of Juniata aid and that you have financial aid early enough to make a decision by the Common Reply date of May 1, 2024.
Juniata’s Federal School Code is: 003279
Returning students must also complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA renewal no later than April 1, 2024.
Information on applying for financial aid with the FAFSA, including creating your StudentAid.gov account, can be found on the Federal Student Aid website, and we welcome you to reach out with any questions that you may have.
Juniata's Conditional Guarantee
A student's commitment to attend Juniata is matched by a corresponding commitment from the College. The Conditional Guarantee assures you that College-sponsored merit aid will remain unchanged for the student's four year of attendance. Because of this you can plan and budget for each year with the expectation that College aid will not be reduced. This means a stable family contribution each year with manageable payments.
The following conditions must be met to maintain the provisions of the Conditional Guarantee:
- Students must meet acceptable standards of academic progress (see Catalog).
- Students must file renewal applications for aid by April 1.
- Significant changes to family or financial circumstances may result in changes to financial assistance.
- PA State Grant: The grant value is Juniata’s best estimate, but is not an award commitment, since the institution has no control over awards from this program. Official notification of eligibility will be provided by PHEAA at the end of May. Occasionally, a student whom we initially believe to be ineligible for the PA State Grant receives the award or the award is increased from a prevous amount. It is the College’s practice to reduce Juniata grant/scholarship aid by an amount equal to the value of the state grant in circumstances where we have recognized the student’s financial need in a manner consistent with institutional awarding practices.
