The Digital Media Studio is structured along standard industrial lines, both in order to facilitate our work and to familiarize students with established practice. The Director of Digital Communication acts as Senior Producer and Director on most projects. Students begin as Production Assistants. With experience students take over the direction of departments: Sound, Camera, Lighting, Editing etc. The most experienced students take over as Production Managers, Producers and Directors.

Junior Video Producer
As a Junior Video Producer, you will work closely with the Director of Digital Communication to develop, coordinate, and deliver internal and external video projects in order to support the College’s Marketing Department. Content produced will include interviews and testimonials, short films, a weekly video series, major college event videos, and a variety of new projects planned each year.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a team of students and one full-time staff member that allows you to tell the most compelling stories of the Juniata College Community. While this job requires no specific knowledge of equipment or software, we are looking for passionate and motivated students interested in learning more about video production. As long as that passion and motivation are there, we’ll teach you the geeky, tech stuff!
Senior Video Producer
As a Senior Video Producer, you are taking the next step in becoming a full-time professional in the field of video production, digital media and marketing, and various other related fields. This role will require a much deeper understanding of how the Digital Media Studio is managed, and will require you to be a part of that management process. You will work closely with the Director of Digital Communication to oversee 3-5 student workers, lead weekly meetings, work weekly office/studio hours, coordinate and manage projects from a supervisor level, manage DMS social media accounts, and help keep the Director sane, among other things.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a team of students and one full-time staff member that allows you to tell the most compelling stories of the Juniata College Community. While this job seems like the next logical step for you in your career, this job isn’t for everyone. It requires already-instilled motivation and some leadership skills. You must be motivated enough to lead several projects at once, gain the foresight for future project planning, and have the ability and want to lead a team of students.
