The Pep Band brings the vibes to Juniata with high-energy tunes ringing out loudly and proudly at campus activities and events as they spread Eagle pride wherever they go. High-energy music, cheers, and camaraderie mark Pep Band performances, with minimal rehearsal requirements. It’s all about maximizing the fun while minimizing the work. Scheduled rehearsals will be minimal, yet the opportunities for you to play, cheer, and bond through music will be many.
The Pep Band is a student-driven organization with elected officers, student directors, and the ability to guide the development of the band through group proposals and decisions. Some types of instruments are available for loan by the Pep Band program. All music is provided, although we do encourage members to bring musical traditions and band cheers from their home experience to make our Pep Band better.
The Juniata College Pep Band is not a marching band, it is a student-driven organization for musicians of all abilities.

Juniata College’s Pep Band has a spot for you! Instrumentation and musical difficulty vary from year to year. Each year’s band will take on the unique personality of the students involved. No auditions are required and no student—regardless of how inexperienced or advanced—will be turned away.
The Juniata College Pep Band is open to all interested instrumental musicians including:
- Brass—trumpets, horns, trombones, baritones, and tuba
- Woodwinds—flute, clarinet, and all saxophones
- Percussion—battery (snare, tom, bass, cymbal), Latin perc (congos and auxiliary), and drum set (kit)
- Keyboards—electronic keyboards (piano), xylophones, vibraphone, and others
- Strings—electric bass, lead guitar, rhythm guitar
- Non-traditional instruments—Reach out to the director and he will do his best to make it happen.
- Non-players—Librarians, equipment managers, and social media managers are needed as well.
