LaRoche 3, Juniata 0

Pittsburgh, Pa. ? The Juniata men?s soccer team playing its third game in five days ran out of gas in the second half as the team dropped a 3-0 decision to LaRoche College as part of the LaRoche College Tournament. Juniata is now 0-3 on the season.

The home team scored one goal in the first half as Jeff Knecht beat Juniata keeper Mark Guthridge (Dubois/Dubois) with just 30 seconds left in the first half.

The final 45 minutes saw the week?s play take its toll as Juniata surrendered another pair of goals. Jesse Zafiritas knocked home the second goal at 50:39, and then Anthony DeGrerolamo put the final goal home at the 67:01 mark. The final tally was assisted by Knecht.

The Eagles put 10 shots on the goal but were unable to put beat the LaRoche keeper. Guthridge made seven saves in net for Juniata.

The Eagles will be back in action next weekend when they compete at the Penn State-Altoona Tournament.
