LaRoche 3, Juniata 0

Pittsburgh, Pa. ? The Juniata College women?s soccer team could not end its week at the LaRoche Tournament with a victory as the Eagle women fell to host LaRoche 3-0 at LaRoche Sunday afternoon. Juniata is now 0-2-1 after playing three games in five days in the first week of the season.

Juniata suffered a big early loss as senior defender Emily Endres (Warren/Warren) left the match with an arm injury. The Eagles battled through the adversity, but found themselves trailing 1-0 at the half. LaRoche struck in the 26th minute with Stephanie Bacon scoring off a Nicole Booth assist.

The second half saw LaRoche wear down Juniata?s depleted roster as they knocked home two more scores. Nicole Constantini put home the first score, and Patricia Miksa added the final tally off an assist from Booth.

Juniata continued to push forward, notching eight shots in the match. Lindsey Treon (Hollidaysburg/Ducansville) was again solid for Juniata in goal making six saves to keep the team in the game.

Juniata will return to action next weekend as the team competes at the Penn State-Altoona Tournament.
