HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Acerbic and irreverent singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson will perform his confessional and cathartic songs at Juniata College at 9 p.m.,Thursday, Oct. 7 in Baker Refectory (the dining hall) in Ellis College Center on the Juniata campus.

Tickets for the concert are $5 for Juniata students and $7 for general admission in advance. Tickets sold at the door the day of the concert will be $10. To buy tickets in advance, please call Staci Weber, director of student activities, at (814) 641-3331.

Nathanson is touring in support of his major-label album "There's a World Beneath These Fireworks," and over the past two years has performed with such groups as Train, Five For Fighting, OAR and Maroon 5.

Before releasing his current album, Nathanson produced and released five albums, including "Please (1993)," "Ernst (1997)," "Not Colored Too Perfect (1998)," "Still Waiting for Spring (1999)," and "When Everything Meant Everything (2002)."

The performer also has had his songs included on soundtracks for major films and television shows. His songs have been featured on the TV shows "Road Rules," "Smallville" and "Dawson's Creek." He also is featured on the soundtrack for the movie "American Wedding."
