Huntingdon, Pa. - Juniata women's soccer player Emily Miller (Penns Valley/Coburn) has been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District II College Division Women's Soccer Team for her work as an athlete and a student at Juniata. The Eagle senior was picked for the third-team as a defender. The team consists of 36 student-athletes, 12 on each the first, second and third teams, with each team consisting of three forwards, four midfielders, four defenders and a goalkeeper.

A four-year competitor on the soccer field for Juniata, Miller enjoyed her finest season in 2004. She stepped into a new position early in the 2004 campaign, becoming Juniata's defensive sweeper and anchoring the team's defensive unit. She helped the Eagles post five shutouts and limit opponents to 2.58 goals per game. She played in all 18 games for the Blue and Gold and made 17 starts. The senior caps her career with 65 games played, one goal and two assists. Her four years saw Juniata establish a new program record for wins in a season during her sophomore year, then match that total during her junior campaign. Then with Miller leading the defense this season, Juniata fell just one win shy of matching the win total again, despite losing 13 players from last season's team.

In the classroom Miller boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.832 while working towards a degree in mathematics and physics. She is a member of the national Physics Honor Society, the National Leadership Society and was chosen last spring as Juniata's Campus Coca Cola Community All-American.

The members of the College Sports Information Directors of America by districts select the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. Student-athletes with a GPA of 3.20 or better and who are considered significant contributors to their team are eligible for nomination. The District II College Division consists of all NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA colleges in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
