HUNTINGDON, Pa.? In the final home meet for three Juniata College seniors, the Eagles made sure to send their teammates out in style as the home team claimed a 109-74 dual-meet victory over Elizabethtown College in Huntingdon Thursday evening. The win gave Juniata its 10th dual-meet triumph of the season, raising the Eagles? record to 10-4 on the year. Elizabethtown dropped to 2-11 with the loss.

Along with claiming first-place finishes in one relay and four individual events, the Eagles also established a pair of new pool records. Amy Sutherland (Norwich/Norwich, N.Y.) helped the 400-meter medley relay team claim a first-place finish, with her backstroke leg earning a new pool record. She joined Jenny Bair (Huntingdon/Huntingdon), Allison Sweigart (Muhlenberg/Reading) and Kathy Trainor (Upper Merion/King of Prussia) in posting a winning time of 4:52.93.

The other pool record came in the 1,500-meter freestyle as Kim Dierolf (Boyertown Area/Boyertown) placed first with a time of 18:44.96.

Trainor, one of the three seniors swimming in a home meet for the final time, earned a pair of individual wins on the night. She led a first, second and third-place Juniata sweep in the 100-meter freestyle, touching the wall first in a time of 1:02.42. Behind her in second was Kathleen O?Leary with Amy Hanson (Lancaster Catholic/Elizabethtown) finishing third. The trio teamed up again in the 50 freestyle as Trainor again placed first, with O?Leary coming in second and Hanson adding a fourth-place finish.

Kasey Brough (Carlisle/Gardners) added Juniata?s fourth individual victory when she posted a time of 4:55.13 in the 400-meter freestyle.

Sutherland added to her record-breaking evening with a second-place finish in the 200-meter individual medley. Her time of 2:33.45 was just .25 seconds behind the first-place finisher.

Juniata will close its regular season on Saturday when the team competes against King?s College in a road dual meet.
