Huntingdon, PA - Juniata College placed 25 athletes on the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation (MAC) Academic Honor Roll for the winter sports season. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior; have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and have completed the winter sports season in good standing on their team.

Juniata's 25 athletes were the fourth most among MAC schools during the winter season. Juniata had players named from four of its five winter varsity sports.

This year's men's indoor track team produced eight Honor Roll athletes. Two seniors represented Juniata on the list, with Dave Bowser (Brentsville District/New Windsor, Md.) and Jeremy Weber (Garden Spot/Mohnton) earning the honor. Juniors Micheal Chirdon (Riverview/Verona), Adam Loser (Central York/York), Gary Ondecko, Jr. (Bishop Carroll/Nothern Cambria) and Mike Vella (Hollidaysburg/Hollidaysburg) were also chosen to represent Juniata. Sophomores Randy Anderson (DuBois/DuBois) and Mohammad Ali Khoshevisan (Seneca Valley/Germantown,Md.) rounded out the men's indoor track selections.

The women's indoor track team also produced eight Honor Roll athletes. Betsy Kusniez (Boyertown/Gilbertsville) was the lone senior represented among the honorees. Three juniors from this season's team were selected as Nancy Hayes (Westminster/Westminster, Md.), Jennifer Marshalek (Montoursville/Monttoursville), and Maria Welch (Jersey Shore/Avis) were all tabbed for the honor. Sophmores Elena Amato (Notre Dame Prep/Baltimore, Md.), Regina Diehl (Camp Hill/Camp Hill), Megan Fahy (Brandywine/Wilmington, De.) and Lauren Gates (Bishop Guilfoyle/Altoona) also represented Juniata in the conference.

All three of the upper classmen of the Juniata women's basketball team received Honor Roll athlete honors. Juniors Kristen Kirk (Newport, Newport), Katie O'Brien (South Western/Hanover) and Lesley Snoby (Johnstown/Johnstown) captured honor roll recognition.

Finally, the Juniata women's swim team produced six honor roll athletes. The seniors from this season's squad were Dana Gais (Kiski/Saltsburg) and Kathy Trainor (Upper Merion/King of Prussia. From the junior class, Kelie Cummins (Huntingdon/Huntingdon), Kim Dierolf (Boyertown/Boyertown) and Amy Hanson (Lancaster Catholic/Elizabethtown) made the cut. Allison Engle (Shippensburg/Shippensburg) was chosen as a sophomore.
