Huntingdon, PA - Juniata College freshman outfielder Kim Wagner (Middletown/Middletown) has been named the Commonwealth Conference softball player of the week for her efforts in six conference games for Juniata this past week. Wagner is the first Juniata softball player to earn a weekly honor from the conference honor.

Wagner helped jump start the Juniata offense from her lead-off position as the Eagles went 3-3 in six conference games. She posted 10 hits on the week and led the Eagles with eight runs scored. She kicked off the week by going 5-for-7 with five runs scored as Juniata swept a conference doubleheader against Elizabethtown. She added one hit and two runs scored in the second game of a twin bill against Albright, and then wrapped up the week with four his and a run scored in conference doubleheader against Lebanon Valley. For the week she posted a .476 batting averaged, and scored at least one run in four of Juniata's six games.

Wagner has been an offensive force for the Eagles in her freshman season. She leads the team with a .456 batting average, and ranks in the top-five in the conference with that average. She leads Juniata and the conference with 19 runs scored, and has pounded out 31 hits which leads the team and ranks third in the conference. She began her collegiate career by hitting safely in her first 10 games. She has since recorded at least one hit in 17 of the 20 games in which she has appeared, and has scored a run in 12 of her 20 games.

Wagner's offensive production has helped Juniata to an 11-11-1 record through 22 games. The Eagles are 3-5 in the Commonwealth Conference, and are still in contention for a conference postseason berth. Juniata will be back in action on Tuesday when the Eagles welcome non-conference foe Lycoming for a doubleheader.
