JUNIATA FOOTBALL GAMES TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON THE INTERNET
TEAMLINE PROVIDES ANOTHER OPTION FOR CATCHING EAGLE ACTION
(Posted September 6, 2001)
Juniata College football faithful will now have the opportunity to follow the Eagles throughout the entire season via the Internet. The institution has elected to broadcast all of the blue and gold gridiron contests during the 2001 campaign in audio fashion on the Juniata web page and will pick up the feed from Power 92, the Eagle flagship station (WKVR-FM) on Saturday afternoons. The student radio station, which is located at 92.3 on the dial, will carry all of Juniata's games this fall, while Adelphia's Channel 17 will pick up the audio feed from WKVR for those who are in the local cable area.
There will be a limited amount of feeds available to those who choose to log on to the web site and listen to the contests via RealPlayer. Once you have established a connection to the feed, you may listen as long or as little as you like.
The WKVR page on the Juniata web site will have a direct link to the broadcasts, although the link will not appear on the WKVR page until 15 minutes before kickoff each Saturday when the pre-game starts.
In addition, parents, alumni and friends of Juniata football can hear the live play-by-play of Eagle football games--even when they are not near a radio or computer. Just call TEAMLINE at 1-800-846-4700 and enter 3127 for the Eagle access code and enter a credit card number when prompted. Then listen to all of the action as broadcast on the Juniata flagship station for as long as you like and pay for only the time that you listen. Charges are 50 cents per minute for the first hour and then 20 cents per minute for each additional minute on the same call. If you plan to listen to entire games, purchase a TEAMLINE Telephone Season Ticket to save up to 70% on every call. A portion of the proceeds are paid to the Juniata athletic department.
The 2001 Eagle regular season schedule is as follows and all times are Eastern Standard Time: Sept. 8, FDU-Madison (1:30); Sept. 15 at Albright (1:30); Sept. 22, Wilkes (1:30); Sept. 29 at King's (1:30); Oct. 6, Moravian (1:30); Oct. 13 at Lebanon Valley (1:30); Oct. 20, Susquehanna (1:30); Oct. 27 at Waynesburg (1:30); Nov. 3 at Widener (1:00); Nov. 10, Lycoming (1:00). Pre-game for each contest will begin approximately 10 minutes before kick-off.
