JUNIATA VOLLEYBALL DOWNS DIVISION II FOE

Ashland, Ohio. ? One season ago Juniata College women?s volleyball coach Larry Bock claimed his 1,000th career victory as the Eagles claimed a win over a Division II opponent. One year, and 35 victories later Bock and Juniata earned victory number 1,035 as the Eagles downed Lake Superior State 3-0 in the first day of competition in a tournament in Ashland, Ohio.

Juniata claimed the match by game scores of 30-24, 30-20, 30-22 to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Stephanie Kines (Towson/Towson, Md.) led the Juniata offensive attack in the match as she posted 14 kills while also adding four blocks.

Rachael Schatz (West Perry/Elliotsburg) added four blocks of her own in Juniata?s defensive effort. Tara McMinn (Huntingdon/Huntingdon) brought up a team-high 17 digs, while Amber Thomas (Conestoga Valley/Ephrata) tossed in three service aces.

Juniata returns to action on Saturday when the Eagles will face off against Division II foes Ashland and Parkland.
