Juniata 1, Albright 0

Reading, Pa. ? Kim Wagner (Middletown/Middletown) scored the game?s only goal as the Juniata College field hockey team claimed its sixth-consecutive win with a 1-0 victory over conference foe Albright. Juniata improved to 7-5 with the win and is now 3-1 in conference action. Albright fell to 5-7 overall and 0-4 in the conference.

The six-match winning streak matched the longest in the history of the Juniata field hockey program. The 2004 team also posted six consecutive victories.

Wagner knocked in the only goal of the match 15 minutes into the contest. The score was her team-leading seventh of the season, and came on one of Juniata?s nine shots in the match.

Albright managed five shots in the contest, and forced Juniata keeper Andrea Way (Fair Haven Union/Fair Haven, Vt.) into making five saves to record the shutout. It was the first shutout of the season for Way.

Juniata will be in action again on Tuesday with a non-conference match against Frostburg State.
