Huntingdon, PA - Juniata College men's soccer player Josh Cady (Malvern Prep./Frazer) has been selected as the Commonwealth Conference men's soccer player of the week. It marks the first conference player of the week recognition that the junior forward has captured during his career.

Cady enjoyed his most productive offensive week of the season for the Eagles as he scored each of the team's four goals in two matches. He helped the Eagles claim a victory this past weekend when he scored his third career hat-trick in a 3-0 win over Villa Julie. After a scoreless first half, Cady converted a penalty kick to put Juniata on the score board. He tallied again with 15 minutes remaining in the half to put Juniata in front 2-0. His final goal came with less than three minutes remaining as he knocked home another penalty kick to seal the victory for Juniata. Cady also scored his first conference goal of the season as he knocked home a head ball to tie Juniata's conference match against Elizabethtown at one in the first half. His four goals on the week topped his scoring output from the other 15 games this season.

Cady's scoring outburst this past week moved him into second place on the Juniata team in both goals and points on the season. He has now knocked in seven goals on the year, and has added one assist for 15 points. He notched a pair of goals in Juniata's win over Southern Vermont College, and scored once in a victory over Mount Aloysius.

Cady was the top goal scorer for the Eagles in his sophomore season as he piled up seven goals. He added four scores in his freshman season, and with his seven scores this year has produced 21 goals for his career. Cady is now just three goals shy of moving into the Juniata College all-time top-five in career goals.

With a pair of games remaining in 2005, the Juniata men's soccer team owns a 5-11-1 record. The Eagles have played some of their best soccer in the final weeks of the season as they own a 2-1-1 record over the last four matches.
