Huntingdon, PA - Juniata field hockey senior Elise Zimmerman (Cumberland Valley/Boiling Springs) has been selected for the 2005 Dartfish/NFHCA South Atlantic All-Region Team. She earns All-Region recognition for the first time in her career as she claims a spot as a second-team honoree. Her selection marks the third consecutive season in which Juniata has placed at least one player on the All-Region Team.

Zimmerman captured first-team All-Commonwealth Conference honors following the season, the second time in her career she had earned All-Conference laurels. She enjoyed one of her most productive offensive seasons for the Blue and Gold as a senior, while also contributing to the defense from her midfield position. She finished the season with four goals which ranked second on the team and matched her career-best total. Zimmerman's four assists on the year was tied for second on the team and gave her 12 points which ranked third on the team. Seven of the eight games in which she posted either a goal or an assist ended as Juniata victories.

Her defensive contributions helped the Eagles hold opponents to 32 goals in 19 games, for a goals against average of 1.55. She also led the team with three defensive saves.

Over her four-year career Zimmerman played in 75 games, starting 57 of those contests. She passed out 14 assists over her career, which ties for the fifth-highest total in the history of the Juniata field hockey program. She also scored eight goals in her career, with all of those eight coming in her final two seasons. Zimmerman finishes with 30 career points and seven defensive saves.

A co-captain in her final season, Zimmerman helped lead Juniata to some of the most successful seasons in the program's history. Over her four years the team enjoyed a record of 50-32 and earned a pair of appearances in the Commonwealth Conference postseason. She also guided Juniata to a program-record 15 wins and the program's first-ever NCAA Division III Tournament berth.
