HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Two instrumental ensembles comprised of Juniata College students will perform in concert at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 11, in the newly renovated Rosenberger Auditorium in the Halbritter Center for the Performing Arts on the Juniata campus.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert opens with the Juniata College Sinfonia. The group will perform excerpts from "Holberg Suite" by Edvard Grieg, excerpts from "Divertimento K. 136" by Wolfgang Mozart, and Reinhold Gliere's "Russian Sailor's Dance," which features full orchestra instrumentation.

The Juniata students in the Sinfonia are:

Violin: Athena Gibble, a senior from York, Pa.; Ye Kyung Kwon, a freshman from Enola, Pa.; Jenny Liu, a sophomore from Pennsville, N.J.; and Emily Tagliati, a freshman from Hollidaysburg. In the second section: Deborah Delaney, a senior from Reistertown, Md.; Leah Hammond, a senior from South Deerfield, Mass.; Jessica Mann, a junior from Northampton, Pa.; Karla Rodriguez, a freshman from Huntington Station, N.Y.; Leigh Ann Sassaman, a sophomore from Selinsgrove, Pa.; and Hannah Taylor, a senior from Norristown, Pa.

Viola: Kalen Braeunig, a freshman from Matamoras, Pa.; Alison Heft, a freshman from Lititz, Pa.; Amelia Hewner, a freshman from Ransomville, N.Y.; Genna Huston, a sophomore from Severna Park, Md.; and Milly Bookhammer, from Williamsburg High School.

Cello: Corinne Hamblet, a junior from Lansing, Mich.; Liana James, a freshman from Boulder, Colo.; Christopher Ree, a sophomore from Copake, N.Y.; and Sarah Bay, a senior from Harrisburg, Pa.

Bass: Carolyn Romako, a sophomore from New Cumberland, Pa.

The Juniata College Jazz Ensemble will perform a series of jazz compositions, including "Big Noise from Winnetka," "Skylark," by Hoagy Carmichael, "Sea Band Stomp," "Fowl Play," "Vehicle," "Center Line" and "Salt Peanuts," by Dizzy Gillespie and Kenny Clarke.

Juniata students in the jazz ensemble are:

Alto Sax: Dwight Bard, a sophomore from Warfordsburg, Pa.; Jessica Clemens, a freshman from Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Tara Fitzsimmons, a chemistry mobile educator at Juniata; Andy Fornadel, a sophomore from Columbia, Md.; Lindsey Lang, a senior from Harrisburg, Pa.; Elena Long, a senior from Pottsville, Pa.; and Christopher Shannon, a freshman from State College.

Tenor Sax: Rachel Edelstein, a freshman from Fleetwood, Pa.; and Muhammad Jami, a senior from Montrose, Pa.

Baritone Sax: Sara Long, a community member from Mount Union, Pa.

Trumpet: Tucker Dietrich, a junior from Spring Grove, Pa.; Tyler Kochel, a freshman from Lancaster, Pa.; Aaron Shotts, a sophomore from Everett, Pa.; and Michael Madden, a sophomore from McVeytown, Pa.

Trombone: Stephen Biesecker, a freshman from New Cumberland, Pa.; Devina Horvath, a junior from Hooversville, Pa.; and James Nelson, a senior from Lanse, Pa.

Guitar: Peter Knepp a sophomore from Julian, Pa.

Piano: Amy Wade, a sophomore from Schuylkill Haven, Pa.

Bass: Jennie Rinehimer, a sophomore from Berwick, Pa.

Drums: Matt Booth, a sophomore from Allentown, Pa.; and Dan Popernack, a sophomore from Hummelstown, Pa.
