Juniata 8, Moravian 1

PHOENIX, Ariz. ? For the third-consecutive game the Juniata College baseball team got a stellar pitching performance to hold conference foe Moravian to just one run as the Eagles claimed an 8-1 victory over the Greyhounds in Phoenix Ariz. Sunday afternoon. Juniata raised its overall record to 3-3 and is now 3-0 in Commonwealth play as the Eagles swept the three-game weekend series against Moravian.

Jason Enoch (Hempfield/Landisville) went eight innings, surrendering just one unearned run and scattering three hits while striking out seven to earn his first victory of the season.

Moravian jumped in front with an unearned run in the top of the first. Greyhound starter Howerth held the Eagles at bay until the fourth when Juniata tied the score with single run. The Blue and Gold then took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and never looked back.

Josh Lingenfelter (Claysburg-Kimmel/Claysburg) knocked out his first career home run in the game, and also added a triple offensively for Juniata.

The Eagles will continue their play in Phoenix on Monday when they face off against Aurora College.
