The Juniata College Music Department invites the public to attend the Fall Student Recital at 8:15 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7 in the Rosenberger Auditorium of Oller Hall.

Freshman pianist Adam Baker will perform "Cataluna" from "Suite Espagnole" by Isaac Albeniz. Another pianist, junior Leah Dobrowolsky, will play "Rondo," the third movement of "Sonata, Op. 13," by Beethoven. In addition, student pianist Nikki Page will perform on piano "Night Prelude III" composed by George Gershwin and Benjamin Britten, and senior pianist William Koeppen will play "Prelude, Op. 23, No. 5" by Rachmaninov. All pianists are students of Katsuko Ochiai, lecturer of music at Juniata.

Three students under the guidance of Michal DelVecchio, lecturer of music, comprise the flute studio portion of the recital. Student flutist Layla Akhgar and freshman Seung Chung on piano will perform "Vocalise" by Aaron Copland. Later in the recital, Akhgar performs with sophomore flutist Holly Lechien and DelVecchio on piano for "Trio in G Major" by Franz Benda.

The String Ensemble, under the direction of Emily Smeltzer, will perform selections from "Water Music" by Handel and "Jingle Bells" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," both by Marshall Ocker.

Ensemble members are violinists senior Bill Hershey, junior Kathleen Ceonzo, freshman Jennifer Savino, freshman Melanie Cegelski, and freshman Ian Palonis, violist and junior Wendy Gladfelter, and cellist John Bukowski, assistant professor of mathematics at Juniata.
