Dan Helm Passed Away

Huntingdon, Pa. - Former Juniata College men's basketball coach Dan Helm passed away in his sleep Saturday May 27, 2006
The viewing for Mr. Helm will be held May 31 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel 740 E. 86th St., Indianapolis, Ind. Funeral service for Dan will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1 in First Baptist Church, located at the corner of 86th Street and College Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made in Dan's name to First Baptist Church of Indianapolis or to your local Animal Shelter.
Coach Helm served as the coach of the Juniata basketball coach from 1981 through 1990. Juniata had two winning seasons during that time, including the program's last postseason berth. He also worked as an athletic trainer while at Juniata.
Coach Helm was currently working as a physical education teacher and athletic trainer at Pike High School in Indianapolis.
