LEWISBURG, Pa. - facing some of the stiffest competition it would see all season, the Juniata College women\'s and men\'s indoor track and field teams put together some strong efforts at the non-scored Bucknell Winter Classic on Saturday. The Juniata women got several strong efforts on the day, highlighted by three top-10 finishes from Kelsey Buffenmyer (Donegal/Mount Joy). Her top effort of the day, and the top finish for either Juniata team, was a second-place finish in the long jump. She added a fifth-place showing in the high jump and a seventh-place effort in the 55-meter hurdles to round out her day. Elena Amato (Notre Dame Prep./Baltimore, Md.) turned in a strong showing for Juniata with a fourth-place finish in the 400. Meghan Jones (Meadville/Meadville) contributed an eighth-place performance in the 3,000 and Caitlin Hinson (Danville/Danville) rounded out the top-10 finishes by placing 10th in the 60 meter dash. The Juniata men also produced six top-10 finishes at the meet, with a pair of fourth-place efforts ranking as the best results on the day. Tripp Rudolph (Upper St. Clair/Pittsburgh) crossed the line fourth in the 800, while Matthew Booth (Allentown Central Catholic/Allentown) was fourth in the triple jump. Booth also added a fifth-place finish in the long jump on the day. Randy Anderson (DuBois/DuBois) had two top-10 efforts on the day as he placed sixth in the 60 meter dash, and also jumped to an eighth-place effort in the long jump. Rounding out the top-10 efforts was a fifth-place finish from Mike Chirdon (Riverview/Verona) in the 5,000. Juniata will return to action next week with a meet at Susquehanna, which will serve as a final tune-up before the MAC Indoor Championships the following weekend. ###
