ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Juniata College baseball team rebounded from being no-hit in the opening game of its conference doubleheader to earn a split of the twinbill. Juniata dropped the first game by an 11-0 score but claimed a 3-1 decision in game two. Jason Enoch (Hempfield/Lancaster) tossed a complete-game three hitter to help Juniata (14-12-1, 8-6-1 Commonwealth) earn the victory in game two. The junior went the distance, allowing one run on three hits while fanning five to pture the win. Juniata gave Enoch all the offense he needed with a two-run third inning. Kevin Small (Wheaton North/Wheaton, Ill.) singled home the first run, and Dan Kauffman (Penn Manor/Conestoga) followed with a single to plate Small and give Juniata a 2-0 cushion. After Elizabethtown got a run back in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single from Brandon Watson the Eagles added an insurance run when Anthony Trutt (Indian Valley/Lewistown) drove home Ben Yeager (Owen J. Roberts/Pottstown) with a sacrifice fly. Enoch then worked around a walk in the seventh to finish off the win. Small had three hits while adding an RBI and a run scored for Juniata in the game. Kauffman also had a pair of hits. Matt Kutz went the distance for Elizabethtown in the game and was tagged with the loss. He gave up eight hits over seven innings. No Blue Jay player finished with more than one hit in the game. It was Juniata\'s offense that came up empty in game one as Sam Heaps tossed seven hitless innings to capture the win. He walked just three and an Elizabethtown error contributed to Juniata\'s four base runners in the contest. Meanwhile the home team knocked out 15 hits in the game and scored at least two runs in four innings. The Blue Jays pushed across a pair of runs in the second inning on an RBI single from Rodney Francis and then an infield error from Juniata. Jared Auman and Jared Morris added RBI singles in the third and a sacrifice fly from Tom Semanek extended the lead to 5-0. The home team then put the game away with a four-run outburst in the bottom of the fourth. A sacrifice fly from Mike Donahue started the scoring. Watson followed with an RBI base hit and Dean Whetham plated him with a triple. Auman knocked home Whetham with a single, which knocked Juniata starter Andrew Snyder (Punxsutawney/Punxsutawney) out of the game. Elizabethtown got two more runs off reliever Jeff Hayes (Indian Valley/Lewistown) in the sixth inning on an RBI single from Matt Vinagro and a runs-scoring double from Francis. Snyder got the loss for Juniata as he allowed nine runs, eight earned, on 10 hits over 3 1-3 innings. Eight of Elizabethtown\'s nine starters had a hit in the game. Whetham finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI in the game, while Francis had two hits, two runs and two runs driven in. Juniata is scheduled to return to action on Monday with a doubleheader against Penn State-Altoona at Blair County Ballpark. ###
