Huntingdon, Pa. - Freshman forward Erinn Harter (Penn-Trafford/Trafford), a member of the Juniata College women's soccer team, was named to the Commonwealth Conference All-Star Second Team, which marked the first time in the history of the College Hill program that a player earned all-star recognition.

Harter led the Eagles in scoring for the majority of the 2001 campaign, but finished second on the team with 18 points on six goals and a program-record six assists. She started all 19 games for Juniata this fall and wasted no time proving that she did belong on the first-string unit by setting a school record for points in a game with seven during the squad's first outing of the fall.

Harter had two goals and three assists during Juniata's victory over Sweet Briar on September 1 at the Goucher College Tournament. The very next day in the championship game of the invitational, she had two goals during a 3-1 Juniata victory. She was named to the all-tournament team for her four-goal, three-assist effort and the following Monday was tabbed as the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week.

Harter went on to tally an assist during a 3-0 victory against Medaille, another assist in a 2-1 overtime win versus Thiel, a goal during a 3-2 setback against Moravian and then another assists which occurred in a 3-3 extra-session tie with Bridgewater (Va.). Her fourth goal of the season happened when the Eagles up-ended Penn State-Altoona, 4-0, on October 11.

Her point total for the year (18) is second in Juniata single-season scoring history, while her goal total was the third-best in a campaign. In addition, she is now ranked on the career lists on College Hill, including fifth in goals, fourth in assists and fifth in points with her one-year totals.

The Eagle women's soccer program began in 1994, but this year's unit posted a squad-best six victories, breaking the old standard of five established by the 1999 club. Juniata was 6-12-1 overall and 0-7 in the Commonwealth under the direction of second-year head coach Scott McKenzie.
