HOBOKEN, N.J. - Senior Kim Wagner (Middletown, Pa./Middletown) tallied three goals while Michelle Campbell (Annville, Pa./Northern Lebanon) added two more to lead 14th-ranked Juniata College to a 7-1 win over Haverford College, in the consolation game of the 2007 Stevens Field Hockey Tournament. Dani Stump (Newport, Pa./Newport) put the Eagles (1-1, 0-0 Landmark) on the board just over two-and-a-half minutes into the game, with a deflection off a shot by Ashleigh Ehnts (Glenside, Pa./Bishop McDevitt). Campbell scored what proved to be the game-winner at just past the 10 minute mark with a shot from four yards out that found the back of the cage, past Haverford goalie Sarah Graves. The game stalled at 2-0 for the bulk of the first half, until the Eagles padded their lead with a pair of goals late in the opening frame. Leslie Stern (Felton, Pa./Red Lion) scored an unassisted goal from six yards out with 1:48 left in the first half, and Wagner notched her first of the game with 50 seconds remaining on a breakaway and shot from three yards out that gave Juniata a 4-0 lead at the midway point. Wagner scored a pair of unassisted goals in the first seven minutes of the second half to expand the Juniata lead to 6-0. Campbell rounded out the Eagle scoring with her second of the day with 25:57 remaining in the contest, with a shot through of the legs of Haverford backup goalie Maggie Cronin. Haverford spoiled Juniata's shutout effort with 3:57 left in the game, when the Fords\' Lauren Kemph flipped a ball past Juniata goalie Denalyn Spratt (Haddon Heights, H.J./Haddon Heights). Spratt came on at halftime to replace Moira Nugent (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg). The two goalies each made one save in the contest. Juniata outshot Haverford 36-4 during the game, and held a 16-2 advantage in penalty corners. The Eagle field hockey squad makes its 2007 home debut on Wednesday, Sept. 5, when it hosts Washington & Jefferson at Winton Hill Field. -30-
