HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Juniata College field hockey players won at least a share of all three major conference awards and a total of seven Eagles were named to all-conference teams, as the Landmark Conference\'s field hockey post-season awards selections were released Friday. Senior forward Kim Wagner (Middletown, Pa./Middletown) was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Year and was a First team All-Landmark Conference selection. Wagner heads into Saturday\'s Landmark Conference Field Hockey Tournament championship game with 24 goals and eight assists for 56 points, including seven goals and one assist during Landmark round-robin play. Wagner currently ranks fourth in the nation in points per game with 2.74, and seventh in goals per game with 1.16. This is the second time Wagner has earned conference player of the year honors; now a four-time all-conference selection, Wagner was the 2006 Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year during Juniata\'s final season in the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation (MASCAC). Senior back Heather Hassinger (Middleburg, Pa./Middleburg) was named the Landmark Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year, sharing the honor with Catholic\'s Andrea Baick. Hassinger anchors a defensive unit that has allowed a mere 16 goals during the 2007 campaign, and has allowed opponents to take just 51 shots on goal over 20 games. She was also legitimate offensive threat, scoring four goals with seven assists for 15 points, including three goals and one assists during the conference slate. Hassinger was also named to the All-Landmark Conference first squad. Freshman forward Paula Price (Camp Hill, Pa./East Pennsboro) was named the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year, after tallying 10 goals and three assists for 23 points in her rookie campaign. Price was also a Second team All-Landmark Conference selection. Also earning First team All-Landmark Conference honors were senior midfielder Michelle Campbell (Annville, Pa./Northern Lebanon) and senior midfielder Leslie Stern (Felton, Pa./Red Lion). Campbell has tallied 11 goals and one assist for 23 points to date, with a 2-1-5 ledger during conference play. Stern has six goals and six assists for 18 points into Saturday\'s championship game. Junior goalie Abby Funk (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) was named to a spot on the All-Landmark Conference second squad. Funk has allowed just 11 goals with 45 saves over 846 minutes in the Juniata goal, for a 1.17 goals against average and a .804 save percentage. Senior back Amanda Wimer (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) rounded out the list of Juniata field hockey post-season honorees, with her selection to the All-Landmark Conference Second team. Wimer was also a key member of a solid Juniata defensive unit. The 13th-ranked Eagle field hockey team currently holds an 18-2 overall record, after completing the Landmark slate with a 5-1 mark. Second-seeded Juniata will face top-seed Catholic University on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 4:00 p.m. in Washington, D.C., for the Landmark Conference championship. -30-
