Juniata WBB tied for third in Landmark preseason poll

HUNTINGDON, PA. - The Juniata College women's basketball team was tied for third place in the Landmark Conference's preseason poll of head coaches and sports information directors, which was released Friday. The Eagles garnered 62 points in the poll, tied with Catholic University. The University of Scranton tops the preseason poll with 90 points, followed by Moravian College with 74 points. Rounding out the poll with Susquehanna (58 points) in fifth place, Drew University and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy tied for the sixth spot with 28 points, and Goucher College in eighth place with 18 points. Juniata (15-10, 6-8 Commonwealth) returns all five starters from last season, including two-time All-Commonwealth forward/guard Jess Winemiller (York, Pa./Dallastown) who averaged a team-high 11.4 points with 5.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in 2006-07. -30-
