MADISON, N.J. -- The Juniata College women's tennis team has been picked to finish fourth, according to the Landmark Conference Preseason Women's Tennis Poll. The head women's tennis coaches and sports information directors at each institution that sponsors women's tennis were polled for the preseason ballot.

Juniata, which is coming off a 7-5 campaign last season, earned 33 points in the voting. The Eagles will be extremely young in 2008 with a junior as the lone upperclassman, but they do return the services of an All-Commonwealth Conference selection in sophomore Amanda Fontana (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity). Fontana posted a 6-6 record at #1 singles last season.

Junior Aggie Kwon (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley), who went 7-4 last season at #4 singles, and sophomore Maggie Wolenter (Audubon, N.J./Audubon), who posted a 5-7 mark at #3 singles, round out the list of Eagle returnees for the 2008 campaign.

Moravian College garnered 57 points to finish atop the Landmark preseason poll. The Greyhounds were followed by Catholic University (51 points), the University of Scranton (41 points), Juniata College (33 points), Susquehanna University (32 points), Goucher College (26 points), and Drew University (12 points).
Juniata opens its spring season on March 3, when it faces Tri State University (Ind.) in Hilton Head, S.C.
