Juniata men's tennis picked fifth in Landmark preseason poll

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College men's tennis team was picked to finish fifth in the Landmark Conference during the 2008 season, in preseason voting of the league's coaches and sports information directors.
Juniata, who finished last season with a 5-6 overall record, 4-2 in the Commonwealth Conference, tallied 42 points in the poll. The Eagles will be led by junior Casey Chew (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville), who went 7-2 overall with a 6-2 mark at #6 singles, and Aaron Rhodes (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon), who was 5-3 in 2007 at #5 singles.
Drew University topped the poll with 82 points, followed by Catholic University with 69 points. Moravian College and the University of Scranton were third and fourth in the poll with 60 and 50 points respectively.
Trailing the Eagles were Goucher College (38 points), the United States Merchant Marine Academy (36 points), and Susquehanna University (15 points).
Juniata begins the spring portion of its 2007-08 slate on March 3, 2008, in Myrtle Beach, S.C., when it faces Tri-State University.
