HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Sophomore first base Rachel Nagy (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) has earned Juniata's first Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week honors during the 2008 season, for the week ending April 20, 2008.

Nagy led the Eagles offense this week, helping them to a 2-2 week and keep Juniata's post-season hopes alive. She finished the week batting .571 (8-for-14) at the plate with nine RBI and four runs, and hit safely in all four games â?" including multi-hit efforts in three of the four contests. She hit a pair of home runs against Messiah, and had two hits with four RBI in a win over Susquehanna.

She is currently ranked in the top three of several Landmark Conference offensive categories: batting average (.446), slugging percentage (.733), on base percentage (.486), hits (45), RBI (32), doubles (12), and total bases (74).

The Eagles return to competition this Thursday, April 24, when they travel to Altoona, Pa. for a doubleheader against Penn State-Altoona starting at 3:00 p.m. Juniata continues conference play this weekend at Catholic University, in Washington, D.C., for its last regular season doubleheader.
